Wholesale opportunities

A diversified seed company for wholesale markets: we produce and distribute our own products and work directly with breeding facilities, for top-quality turf and forage seed at reasonable cost.

Grass and clover for nurseries

Use grass and clover between the rows to improve quality and make growing easier.

Yield control for quality
Grasses keep spraying down and erosion under control. This makes a very environmentally sound practice.
Erosion control
Nurseries have open areas between rows that can create erosion problems. A grass cover is one of the most efficient ways to stop or limit erosion.
Accessibility
During long periods of the year it is difficult or impossible to enter fields because of slippery slopes or heavy soils. Grass fixes the soil and allows access to the fields, with increased safety.
Nitrogen fixation
Adding clover to the mixture allows cheaper, more sustainable production, and a “slow release” fertilizer for the companion grass.
Disease control
Raindrops splashing on the soil surface spread many diseases. A grass cover diminishes the risk of dispersal.

Choosing species

Red fescue
Assures ground cover in the row intervals: rhizomes tie the soil together and prevent erosion. Drought tolerant.
White clover
Small-leaved types are especially recommended for better ground cover than large-leaf types. Releases nitrogen to the companion grasses and reseeds itself.
Sheep fescue, hard fescue, chewings fescue
Good for lower growth and lower fertility. Drought tolerant.
Poa reptans
Very low growing (5″–10″), shade tolerant and dense. Seed at 2 lbs / 1,000 sq ft; germinates in 6–8 days with adequate moisture. Very wear tolerant, goes dormant in summer when trees need moisture, and continually reseeds itself.
Perennial ryegrass
Quick germination for erosion control and weed suppression.

Mixture design

Compose the mixture according to your goals. As a general guideline:

  • Include a species with rhizomes or stolons to maximize ground cover.
  • Choose the main species according to your control objectives.
  • Add white clover whenever possible to support the grass and cut fertilizer use.
  • Lower-growing grasses and clover mean less chemical use.

Our production, your identity

We do our own production to maintain high quality standards. When contracting with growers we select highly qualified seed growers for consistent quality and reliable production, advise them through the growing season on fertilization, pest and weed control, and have all our seed analyzed at certified seed laboratories.

Seed comes in bulk or a variety of bag sizes. To help you keep your own identity, we offer customized labels and brochures with your name and logo, including barcoding for easy scanning.

Through our associations in the Oregon seed industry we can be a single source for all your seed needs: a diverse product line, custom blending and labeling, and competitive pricing. Our number one job is 100% customer satisfaction with all our products.
